Sand Dunes

Lancelin Sand Dunes are the biggest in Western Australia. The sand dune system is about 2.5 kilometers long and 1.5 kilometers wide. Lancelin is about an hour and a half (about 150 km) drive north of Perth. Usually there are a large number of people on the dunes, especially on weekends, long weekends and in school holidays there can be hundreds of people playing on the sand. Some of the best photos can be taken at dawn and dusk, the views are magnificent. You just have to be there and not in front of the computer.

Some photos of birds along the Swan and Helena rivers, bushlands, parks, wetlands. Helena valley is one of the small pockets of natural areas left untouched by urbanisation. Helena valley is perfect for bush walking and bird watching.
